Yala people arranged the morning alms round and the ceremony of alms offering to the monks from 323 temples for dedicating merit to the dead from unrest event in the southern region of Thailand.

Venerable Sanitworng Wuttiwangso, Director of the Communications Department of Wat Phra Dhammakaya, stated that the World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth (WFBY) had declared the 6th August Annual World Meditation Day.
Wat Phra Dhammakaya organized the mass meditation, the congratulatory ceremony for new graduates of the 9th Pali studies level, the presentation of plaques and scholarships to outstanding Pali schools and the necessity offering to over 2,000 temples including 323 temples in the four southern provinces on the World Meditation Day.
Earth Day in its modern form was initiated by the Honorable Gaylord Nelson, a United States senator from Wisconsin, who strived to raise awareness and gather political support for the environmental issues of the day.
The participants of the Morning Alms Round at Terminal 21 Shopping Mall unveil in the press conference about this activity. The Morning Alms Round will be held on July 7th, 2012.
